Borderlands: Tips and Tricks

Posted by WebMaster | Posted in Gaming News | Posted on 20-11-2009

Borderlands Box Art

Looking for a great first person shooting game? Want to team up with a friend? Do you want to level and gain skills like a role-playing game? Than Borderlands is the game for you, choose from four different classes and collect 7.5 million different types of guns!

Here is a great site for creating class builds. Here is another site trying to collect all the different types of guns in the game, so far it has a huge database.

For people new to the game and some experienced players these tips may help you out…

Sell… Sell… Sell…

Pick up everything you can, when you hover over an item you can see how much it is worth which is a good way to know what to drop out of inventory if needed. Remember where vending machines are located and visit often.

Time is A Factor

All mobs will spawn back in time so keep this in mine. If there is an area which was a descent xp spot remember to visit it again. Also after a long mission you may find yourself fighting your way back to town so remember to save some ammo.

Guns

As you use weapons you become more proficient with them gaining some nice bonuses. I tend to keep a sniper, assault rifle and shot gun close at hand. Depending on your class mix it up, drop the sniper if you don’t like long range pick up a bazooka!

Elemental

Some guns have elemental effects! The only issue is your regular damage will suffer. This is ok but I wouldn’t recommend x1 guns anything x2 and up is a lot better and more likely worth it.

Fire is good against flesh and Shock guns are good against shields. One an enemy loses their shield they tend to be easy pickings.

Shields

There are many different shields in the game to use. There are elemental resistance one which I don’t find to useful, ones which cause an explosion when its depleted again not that useful and than ones which heal over time those are the best in my opinion.

Grenades

Like to make things go BOOM! Grenades are good for that and there are a ton of mods in the game to make your grenades do different things. Loike steal health from the enemy, stick to them, catch them on fire and teleport to their location.

Ammo

Collect everything you can sometime you may get desperate and have to use a different type of gun than you’re not used to so having ammo for that gun can’t hurt. Upgrade your storage of the weapons you most commonly use and if you have extra cash upgrade some of the others.

Humans

Simple, aim for the head! This is the weakest part and if your lucky you may pop one or two!

Skags

These are the dog like creatures. Wait for them to open their mouths and you will get critical hits like crazy. This will take time to get used to but if done right you will take down the most badass skags in the game.

Well I hope these tips will help some players out there and maybe attract some new players to the game. Its available on almost every video game format so grab a copy and start shooting!

Aion Online: How to Glide

I am a little embarrassed to be writing an article about Gliding in Aion Online but I myself just started to really figure out how to do it. I don’t mean just hitting the glide button while flying to save on flight time. I am talking about gliding in no fly areas!

Yep you can actually glide in no fly areas with a little practice, this can save a lot of time on travel so its definitely worth spending some time playing around with. Find a spot in the terrain where there is a slight incline or hill. Jump and hit your glide key, usually [Space] but don’t hold down the forward movement key [W]. This was my biggest mistake instead let go of the key. As you glide and get close to the ground than hit the back movement key or [S]. If your timing is good you should begin to float back up, tap forward again and keep gliding. With a little practice I have used this method and ran out of flight time!

I know to many gamers this technique may have been common knowledge but I am sure there are some gamers out there like me that didn’t quite know this little trick. So I hope this helps some gamers playing Aion Online and Happy Gliding!

Aion Online: Chanter or Cleric?

Posted by WebMaster | Posted in Aion | Posted on 02-11-2009

In Aion Online one of the hardest tasks is choosing what class to play. Since leveling up a character is definitly a time investment choosing the right class can become very important. In this post I am going to discuss the difference between a Cleric and a Chanter. They are both healers and start out their careers as priests however each plays a different role in higher levels of the game.

Gear:
What I like about Aion Online in regards to healers is they actually can take a hit! It is about time… The classic Cleric class uses medium armor with a shield, so many games put healers in robes which make them way too squishy. So yes both Clerics and Chanters can wear chain armor in Aion Online, both can use shields and a mace or a staff. However Clerics will tend to lean towards mace and shield for more defense and magic boost while Chanters will use Staves for the Phyical Crit Boot and higher dps.

Skills:
Clerics in regards to healing have the big single target and group heals. Their buffs are ok and most of their attacks capability are ranged spells. A Chanter’s heals are mostly heal over time spells with some single target and group heals. Their buffs and mantras really are their biggest asset, at lower levels the buffs aren’t too strong but at higher levels they begin to make a real difference. Chanters are a true support class, buffing, healing and debuffing by dealing damage in between.

Solo:
Both classes are solid when leveling solo. Being able to heal and wearing chain armor makes you a tough class to crack. You may not kill things as fast as other classes, but you will rarely ever have to stop. Clerics however tend to have more downtime than Chanters because all their spells both healing and damage are going to cost mana. Both classes however would benefit from teaming up with a damage dealing friend. Between the two of you there will never be any downtime and fast kills to make up for the xp reduction.

PvP:
Both the Cleric and the Chanter are not going to be raking in the kills. However they will be helping out their fellow teamates, these classes are meant as support. Again team up with a friend or a Legion and you will be doing just find. To be honest people are always looking for healers so you will always be in demand either way you choose. Chanter’s may have a slight advantage over a Cleric in PvP do to extra dps, non-removable buffs and instant heal over time spells.

PvE:
Healers are needed period. Cleric’s are main healers and Chanters are backup with better buffs. Having both a Cleric and Chanter in a group makes the life of the Cleric easier and in case of mistakes the Chanter can heal until the Cleric is back on their feet. Others argue saying to just go with a Cleric and replace the Chanter with more dps. Its an option but you are running without any wipe protection which can be costly in the long run.

In summary to make things really simple. When trying to decide between a Cleric or a Chanter in Aion Online look at it this way.

Cleric:
Ranged DPS, Best Large Single Target and Group Heals, Average Buffs, Strong in PvE

Chanter:
Melee DPS, Best Heal over Time Spells, Strong Buffs, Average Debuffs, Strong in PvP

I hope this post will help some gamers out. By looking at things this way I was able to decide which path to choose but now you need to decide whats best for you!
