Aion Online: How to Glide

I am a little embarrassed to be writing an article about Gliding in Aion Online but I myself just started to really figure out how to do it. I don’t mean just hitting the glide button while flying to save on flight time. I am talking about gliding in no fly areas!

Yep you can actually glide in no fly areas with a little practice, this can save a lot of time on travel so its definitely worth spending some time playing around with. Find a spot in the terrain where there is a slight incline or hill. Jump and hit your glide key, usually [Space] but don’t hold down the forward movement key [W]. This was my biggest mistake instead let go of the key. As you glide and get close to the ground than hit the back movement key or [S]. If your timing is good you should begin to float back up, tap forward again and keep gliding. With a little practice I have used this method and ran out of flight time!

I know to many gamers this technique may have been common knowledge but I am sure there are some gamers out there like me that didn’t quite know this little trick. So I hope this helps some gamers playing Aion Online and Happy Gliding!

Aion Online: Chanter or Cleric?

In Aion Online one of the hardest tasks is choosing what class to play. Since leveling up a character is definitly a time investment choosing the right class can become very important. In this post I am going to discuss the difference between a Cleric and a Chanter. They are both healers and start out their careers as priests however each plays a different role in higher levels of the game.

Gear:
What I like about Aion Online in regards to healers is they actually can take a hit! It is about time… The classic Cleric class uses medium armor with a shield, so many games put healers in robes which make them way too squishy. So yes both Clerics and Chanters can wear chain armor in Aion Online, both can use shields and a mace or a staff. However Clerics will tend to lean towards mace and shield for more defense and magic boost while Chanters will use Staves for the Phyical Crit Boot and higher dps.

Skills:
Clerics in regards to healing have the big single target and group heals. Their buffs are ok and most of their attacks capability are ranged spells. A Chanter’s heals are mostly heal over time spells with some single target and group heals. Their buffs and mantras really are their biggest asset, at lower levels the buffs aren’t too strong but at higher levels they begin to make a real difference. Chanters are a true support class, buffing, healing and debuffing by dealing damage in between.

Solo:
Both classes are solid when leveling solo. Being able to heal and wearing chain armor makes you a tough class to crack. You may not kill things as fast as other classes, but you will rarely ever have to stop. Clerics however tend to have more downtime than Chanters because all their spells both healing and damage are going to cost mana. Both classes however would benefit from teaming up with a damage dealing friend. Between the two of you there will never be any downtime and fast kills to make up for the xp reduction.

PvP:
Both the Cleric and the Chanter are not going to be raking in the kills. However they will be helping out their fellow teamates, these classes are meant as support. Again team up with a friend or a Legion and you will be doing just find. To be honest people are always looking for healers so you will always be in demand either way you choose. Chanter’s may have a slight advantage over a Cleric in PvP do to extra dps, non-removable buffs and instant heal over time spells.

PvE:
Healers are needed period. Cleric’s are main healers and Chanters are backup with better buffs. Having both a Cleric and Chanter in a group makes the life of the Cleric easier and in case of mistakes the Chanter can heal until the Cleric is back on their feet. Others argue saying to just go with a Cleric and replace the Chanter with more dps. Its an option but you are running without any wipe protection which can be costly in the long run.

In summary to make things really simple. When trying to decide between a Cleric or a Chanter in Aion Online look at it this way.

Cleric:
Ranged DPS, Best Large Single Target and Group Heals, Average Buffs, Strong in PvE

Chanter:
Melee DPS, Best Heal over Time Spells, Strong Buffs, Average Debuffs, Strong in PvP

I hope this post will help some gamers out. By looking at things this way I was able to decide which path to choose but now you need to decide whats best for you!

Aion Online: Resting XP or Repose

Posted by WebMaster | Posted in Aion | Posted on 23-10-2009

resting xp repose

New gamers to Aion Online don’t realize that the game actually has rested xp like in World of Warcraft and other MMO’s. However in Aion Online they decided to do it a little different and they call it Repose.

Repose:
You only accumulate Repose energy when a character ia higher than level 20 and is logged out of the game. This is why a lot of players don’t know about rested xp or repose yet due to the level restriction. What Repose does is it lets a player earn an extra 20-30% experience when killing monsters and enemy faction members! To be fully rested and get 100% Repose a player needs to be logged out for two days.

Repose is applied when killing monsters or defeating characters of the opposite faction as well. An icon in the top right corner of the screen shows when your character has this energy stored.

So there is rested xp in Aion Online and its time for players to roll some alts hit level 20 and let them sit for two days to collect some repose! Why not get the extra xp and its fun to try out other classes.

Aion Online: Divine Points

Posted by WebMaster | Posted in Aion | Posted on 19-10-2009

Divine Points are a mystery to many players of Aion Online. The only time new players begin to notice divine points is when they start glowing. Actually there are three different auras and they don’t exist just to make your character look shiny. At lower levels you will not be able to see other player’s divine auras until you are level 10.

So what are divine points really? Well they are points you get awarded every time you kill a mob after you reach level 10 and become a Daeva. The Divine Point bar is found below the Hit and Mana Point bars. The interesting thing about the Divine Point bar is that you can fill it up three times for a total of 4,000 points.

So what are the points used for?

Skills: There are actually divine skills which require divine points to be activated. The lowest costing is 2,000 divine points and the highest is 4,000. There are multiple skills and they are different for each class.

Criticals: Retaining divine power can be advantageous since it increases your chances of critically hitting in melee as well as critically healing.

Crafting: That is right divine points even help with crafting! The more points you have the more it improves your chances of creating a “Noble” variant of the item. So its worth grinding for a little bit for doing any major crafting to make sure you increase your chances of a proc while crafting.

Morphing: Another topic many players know little about when they first start playing. When you became a Daeva you received a new skill called Morph Substances. This ability lets you use Aether powder, which is found by using your Aether Extraction ability on vortexes found in the sky. Aether is the building block of everything in Aion so it is only logical that from these building blocks you can morph it into any substance. The act of morphing the powder into a material costs divine points, starting at 200 divine points and increasing as the objects get more difficult.

When do you lose your divine points?

Sadly after you log out or upon death. That is why a lot of players tend to use divine skills in battle right away. Sometimes you will see crafters grinding for a short while and than warping back to begin their crafting session.

So that’s what divine points are all about. They can be used in combat for special skills, crafting, morphing and can help you be more effective in battle by landing more critical hits or heals. Overall not too shabby and you get a shiny glow out of it too!

Aion Online: Grinding Guide and Tips

Aion Online is an MMO of not only quests but definitely grinding. There really isn’t too much of a way around it. There are a ton of quests but to be honest sometimes its worth just grinding out that extra two or three boxes to level. So this post should help gamers with grinding and some general leveling tips.

General Tips
———————————————————————————-
- The trick is to get levels in 3’s so you only have to hit the main city once and a while.

- Always sell when heading back from quests. The “Sell All Misc” button is your best friend.

- Bandages, Odella Powder and potions are a great to stop downtime.

- Power shards can help give you that extra damage when grinding to kill mobs faster.

Grinding Tips
———————————————————————————-
- Find a spot to grind that has 2 or 3 gathering nodes that way when you are waiting for the mobs to respawn you can gather and gain some Kinah.

- Ideal grinding spots are where you have a bunch of low level mobs where you can use some AoE skills if you class has any.

- If you have no AoE skills than a good grinding spot is where there are higher level mobs, maybe a level or two above your level which are spaced out to reduce adds, but will give extra xp. Make sure you have a decent Accuracy or Magical Accuracy so you can hit the mobs.

- In a group? Find a spot which has elite mobs, more Kinah and better item drops. Otherwise group grinding is actually not helping you because the xp is being split among the group.

- Look up what mobs drop at the AionArmory that way you can choose mobs to grind which drop items you want.

Well thats it! Some simple tips and tricks to grinding in Aion Online. If you have any tips yourself feel free to send it to us.
