Champions: Level Cap Starting at ???

Posted by WebMaster | Posted in Champions Online | Posted on 07-09-2009

Level Cap

According to an interview from videogamer.com with the developers of Champions Online the starting level cap is going to sit at level 40!

Sound familiar? It should if you played City of Heroes, this is the same level cap they started with. Some debate if this is a good move to have the starting level cap somewhat low compared to other MMOs.

Personally I think its kind of refreshing but it all depends on the pace it takes to level your character. I remember in the beginnings of World of Warcraft levels 1-10 were a breeze, 11-20 were bearable, 21-30 you started to feel the crunch, 31-40 was painful but than you received your mount making 40-50 not too bad but than 50-60 you wanted to gouge your eyes out…

So it all depends on the pace if its not unbearable casual players now have the opportunity to level more than one character. The hard-core gamer will most likely complain and probably level out all the characters they can or quit before they do, but games have to be designed with the average player in mind.
